RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
6/12/25- Joe Mixon is the No. 1 RB and averaged 15 carries and 4 targets from Week 11 on with 82% of the red-zone work, and he could see less work in 2025. The reason that Mixon may see reduced work is the team singed Nick Chubb in free agency. if Chubb returns to form from injury, it would not be a shock if he took over the lead role from Mixon. Regardless, Mixon and Chubb will be the top-two RBs. Woody Marks and Dameon Pierce will compete for depth roles.
WR Overview
6/12/25- Nico Collins was targeted 99 times in 12 games as the No. 1 WR, and he should continue to see a high number of targets. In the second round of the draft, Houston selected Jayden Higgins, who projects to be a full-time outside WR across from Collins. The Texans traded for Christian Kirk in the offseason, and he will likely compete with Jaylin for the No. 3 role. John Metchie and Xavier Hutchinson will likely compete for depth roles.
TE Overview
6/12/25- Dalton Schultz is the lead TE, but with the Texans having a deep an talented WR room, Schultz may not see consistent .Brevin Jordan and Cade Stover will likely compete for the No. 2 role.
