Arizona Cardinals RB Roles
Team: Arizona Cardinals
Last Update:   4/27/2025
RB Overview
Role Security: High
04/27/25- James Conner had 236 carries, 55 targets and 65% of the red zone work in 2024, and he should remain in that role this season. The No.2 should be Trey Benson, who rushed 63 times with six targets and 4% of the red zone work. In his second season, his role should increase. Emari Demercado and Michael Carter will battle for depth roles.
WR Overview
04/27/25- Marvin Harrison will remain the clear No. 1 WR after being targeted 116 times as a rookie. Michael Wilson should reprise his No. 2 role, which resulted in 71 targets in 2024. Greg Dortch remains the primary slot WR, but with the team making frequent use of 2-TE sets, Dortch was limited to 50 targets in 2024. Zay Jones, Xavier Weaver and others will compete for depth roles.
TE Overview
04/27/25- Trey McBride led the entire Cardinals team with 147 targets and is not only the lead TE, but he may again be the team's top pass catcher. Elijah Higgins was targeted 25 times in 2024, and he has a great chance of reprising his role as the No. 2 pass catching TE.
