Carolina Panthers RB Roles
Team: Carolina Panthers
Last Update:   4/27/2025
RB Overview
Role Security: Medium
04/27/25- Chuba Hubbard led the Panthers with 250 carries, 54 targets and a 64% red zone share in 2024. He projects to be the lead RB in 2025, though he may have more competition for work. Newly-acquired Rico Dowdle rushed for over 1,000 yards with Dallas last year while handling 235 carries and 49 targets. He could push for a significant role in training camp. Trevor Etienne was drafted in the 4th round of this year's draft, and he could see some work on passing downs, but he appears to be the clear No. 3 RB. Jonathon Brooks is likely to miss significant time after suffering an ACL injury for the second year in a row.
WR Overview
04/27/25- The Panthers used the No. 8 pick in this year's draft to select Tetairoa McMillan, who should instantly become the team's No. 1 WR. Adam Thielen, although playing in the slot, could remain the No. 2 option after averaging 6.2 targets in 2024. Xavier Legette is expected to start on the outside after seeing 84 targets in 16 games as a rookie. Jalen Coker and David Moore project to battle for snaps.
TE Overview
04/27/25- The Panthers will likely have a competition during training camp between Tommy Tremble (32 targets in 2024), Ja'Tavion Sanders (43 targets in 2024) and 5th round pass-catching TE Mitchell Evans.
