The 2025 MLB Trade Deadline is scheduled for Thursday, July 31 at 6 p.m. ET.

What You Will Find on This Page

Below, you'll find every trade involving at least one major-league player that took place since June 15, the date the Red Sox shocked the baseball world by dealing Rafael Devers to the Giants for a package of four players. We'll analyse the fantasy impact of each deal, noting the players' expected roles with their new clubs as well as who else on the roster could be gaining or losing playing time. This article will be updated daily leading up to the July 31 trade deadline, so you might want to keep it bookmarked.

Top MLB Trade Deadline Rumors

Plenty of movement is expected between now and the July 31 deadline. Some of the top recent rumors include:

• The Padres have discussed Dylan Cease in trade talks with the Mets, Cubs and some American League East teams, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.
• The Cardinals will entertain trade offers for Sonny Gray, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
• The Mets have inquired on Brandon Lowe, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
• The Tigers are one of the "strong suitors" for Eugenio Suarez and "would love" to finalize a trade for the third baseman before they conclude their series with the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
• Nolan Arenado is drawing trade interest from teams as a backup plan to Eugenio Suarez, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Every 2025 MLB Trade Deadline Deal, Analyzed

AL East

Baltimore Orioles Trades

7/10: The Orioles acquire the 37th pick in the 2025 draft from the Rays in exchange for RP Bryan Baker.

Orioles fantasy impact: Minimal, though this removes Baker from the list of potential second-half closers should Felix Bautista get dealt later this month. Baker was tied for second on the team with two saves with Seranthony Dominguez, who now looks like the top candidate should he remain in Baltimore while Bautista leaves.

7/25: The Orioles acquire minor-leaguers SP Wellington Aracena (235) and RP Cameron Foster from the Mets in exchange for RP Gregory Soto.

Orioles fantasy impact: Soto picked up his first save of the year Thursday after Bautista hit the IL with shoulder discomfort, which may have indicated he was set for a run as the temporary closer down the stretch if not for this move. Instead, it will likely be Dominguez who fills that role, though he could of course be traded as well.

Boston Red Sox Trades

6/15: The Red Sox acquire SP Kyle Harrison, RP Jordan Hicks and minor-leaguers OF James Tibbs and SP Jose Bello from the Giants in exchange for DH Rafael Devers.

Red Sox fantasy impact: Losing Devers and his career.856 OPS deals a blow to Boston's lineup, hurting the run and RBI chances for his former teammates. Unblocking the DH spot has allowed rookie Roman Anthony to play everyday without taking time from other outfielders, though there's a logjam again now that Masataka Yoshida is back from shoulder surgery. If Devers were still in town, though, Yoshida might not have a role at all. 
None of the players the Red Sox acquired have yet made much of an impact at the big-league level for their new team. Harrison has been in the minors since the trade, re-working his repertoire to attempt to add a cutter and a sinker. Hicks, who had started 29 games for the Giants over the last two seasons, is working in relief in Boston. He actually has a save in a game in which Aroldis Chapman was used in the eighth inning and could see sporadic save chances going forward but would need Chapman to be dealt to have a chance at making the ninth inning his own.

New York Yankees Trades

7/25: The Yankees acquire 3B Ryan McMahon from the Rockies in exchange for minor-leaguers SP Griffin Herring and SP Josh Grosz.

Yankees fantasy impact: Jazz Chisholm is the only player who's given the Yankees competent production at either second or third base this season, and he can only play one position at once. This deal lets Chisholm settle in as the everyday second basemen, the spot he's occupied for the last few weeks due to lingering shoulder issues. Oswald Peraza and Jorbit Vivas had been competing for starts at third base but now find themselves on the bench.

As for McMahon himself, any trade which pulled him away from Coors Field was going to lead to a major downgrade in park factors, but it could have been a lot worse. Yankee Stadium may not be Coors Field, but it's still a great place to hit for lefties, ranking fourth-best for left-handed homers according to Statcast. McMahon will also enjoy a major upgrade in his surrounding lineup as he goes from being teammates with Michael Toglia to being teammates with Aaron Judge.

7/26: The Yankees acquire 2B/3B Amed Rosario from the Nationals in exchange for minor-leaguers RP Clayton Beeter and OF Browm Martinez.

Yankees fantasy impact: Rosario had filled a bench role in Washington, appearing at four different positions but starting less than a third of games before the deal. He appears set for a similar role in New York, pushing the ineffective Oswald Peraza further down the depth chart. A switch hitter, Rosario has performed much better against lefties (.799 OPS) than righties (.667 OPS) over the course of his career, so it's possible he fills the short side of a third-base platoon with the newly-acquired Ryan McMahon, but it's unlikely he plays enough to have much fantasy value. 

Tampa Bay Rays Trades

7/10: The Rays acquire reliever Bryan Baker from the Orioles in exchange for the 37th pick in the 2025 draft.

Rays fantasy impact: Minimal, as the Rays are using Pete Fairbanks as a traditional closer rather than going with the committee approach they've been fond of in the past. If Fairbanks were to get hurt, or if the Rays elect to deal him even while trying to contend (something which isn't hard to envision for this franchise), Baker could earn save chances, though Garrett Cleavinger, Edwin Uceta and Manuel Rodriguez could still be in the mix. 

7/28: The Rays acquire minor-league 2B/SS Jadher Areinamo from the Brewers in exhange for C Danny Jansen.

Rays fantasy impact: Jansen had been the Rays' starting catcher this season, starting 66 of 106 games behind the plate. Going forward, Matt Thaiss will split time with new arrival Nick Fortes.

7/28: The Rays acquire C Nick Fortes from the Marlins in exchange for minor-league OF Matthew Etzel.

Rays fantasy impact: With Danny Jansen dealt to Milwaukee, the Rays have a hole at catcher. Fortes may have been acquired to fill that hole, though his career OPS (.621) is worse than that of Matt Thaiss (.653), who had been Jansen's backup, so there's no guarantee he earns mcuh more than half the starts.

7/28: The Tigers acquire SP Chris Paddack from the Twins in exchange for minor-league C Enrique Jimenez.

Tigers fantasy impact: The Tigers rotation has been hit with a number of injuries, most recently Reese Olson's season-ending shoulder strain. Paddack should slide right into Olson's vacated spot without taking opportunities away from any of his new teammates. With a 4.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 17.6 percent strikeout rate, though, Paddack won't be particularly useful in many fantasy leagues.

Kansas City Royals Trades

7/17: The Royals acquire 2B/LF Adam Frazier from the Pirates in exchange for minor-league SS Cam Devanney.

Royals fantasy impact: This trade should result in a playing-time upgrade for Frazier, who had started just one of Pittsburgh's last 12 games before the break. The Royals have gotten so little production from their left fielders this season, who have hit .211/.283/.307 as a group, that even Frazier's .255/.318/.336 performance represents improvement. Regular at-bats would keep Frazier viable in very deep leagues, but he doesn't do enough to matter in most formats even with steady playing time.

7/26: The Royals acquire OF Randal Grichuk from the Diamondbacks in exchange for minor-league RP Andrew Hoffmann.

Royals fantasy impact: The move is at least a temporary upgrade in playing time for Grichuk, who had mostly filled a short-side platoon role in Arizona but should now start everyday in right field until Jac Calgianone returns from his hamstring strain. Even when Calgianone gets healthy, Grichuk should still find at-bats against righties easier to come by with the outfield competition in Kansas City looking much lighter than it did in Arizona. Grichuk could start over John Rave in left field once Caglianone returns.

Minnesota Twins Trades

7/28: The Twins acquire minor-league C Enrique Jimenez from the Tigers in exchange for SP Chris Paddack.

Twins fantasy impact: The Twins were already looking short in the rotation with Bailey Ober (hip), Pablo Lopez (shoulder) and David Festa (shoulder) on the injured list. Ober is on the cusp of returning, but with Paddack now in Detroit, that will leave the Twins with just four starters. Travis Adams and Marco Raya are on the 40-man roster and currently starting for Triple-A Rochester, so one of them could be getting the call soon.

Seattle Mariners Trades

7/24: The Mariners acquire 1B Josh Naylor from the Diamondbacks in exchange for minor-leaguers RP Brandyn Garcia and SP Ashton Izzi.

Mariners fantasy impact: The move is a downgrade for Naylor himself, as he moves from the third-best hitters' park per Statcast to the toughest place to hit in the entire league. And unlike most hitters who get dealt at the deadline, he's not leaving behind a poor lineup, as the Diamondbacks rank fourth in runs scored, six spots higher than the Mariners. 

The trade is also a likely downgrade for Luke Raley and Donovan Solano, who had been platooning at first base. They could hold onto most of their playing time if the Mariners are willing to play Jorge Polanco in the field more often in place of Cole Young at second base or Brandon Williamson at third, but he's been the designated hitter in all but 13 of his starts this year.

Texas Rangers Trades

7/18: The Rangers acquire RP Jose Ruiz from the Braves in exchange for RP Dane Dunning.

Rangers fantasy impact: Almost none. Dunning has spent most of the year in the minors, while Ruiz has an 8.82 ERA and has been DFA'd by both the Phillies and Braves this season, so any major-league innings he earns will likely come in low leverage.

NL East

Atlanta Braves Trades

7/18: The Braves acquire RP Dane Dunning from the Rangers in exchange for RP Jose Ruiz.

Braves fantasy impact: Minimal, unless Atlanta is hit with even more injuries in its rotation. Dunning has spent most of the year starting in the minors but is expected to pitch in the big-league bullpen for his new team, though he does have a 4.27 ERA in 102 career starts, so he could be a back-end rotation option at some point.

7/27: The Brave acquire Erick Fedde from the Cardinals in exchange for cash considerations.

Braves fantasy impact: Atlanta adds another starter to address the growing injury crisis in its rotation, with Grant Holmes (elbow) hitting the 60-day injured list the same day. The move preserves some level of fantasy relevance for Fedde, who had been designated for assignment by St. Louis, but even in very deep leagues, a pitcher who has a 5.22 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 14.1 percent strikeout rate isn't particularly interesting.

Miami Marlins Trades

7/28: The Marlins acquire minor-league OF Matthew Etzel from the Rays in exchange for C Nick Fortes.

Marlins fantasy impact: Fortes had fallen behind rookie Agustin Ramirez on the catcher depth chart, though Ramirez frequently served as the designated hitter, giving Fortes more playing time than most backups. Those starts could now go to Liam Hicks, who was already on the roster as a third catcher, or perhaps Ramirez could spend more time behind the plate over the final two months and less time as the DH, with Heriberto Hernandez picking up more playing time as a result.

New York Mets Trades

7/25: The Mets acquire RP Gregory Soto from the Orioles in exchange for minor-leaguers SP Wellington Aracena (235) and RP Cameron Foster.

Mets fantasy impact: Minimal. The deal adds another capable high-leverage arm to set up for Edwin Diaz and gives the Mets a pitcher with experience in the ninth inning should Diaz get hurt, but Soto wouldn't necessarily get the job ahead of Reed Garrett or Huascar Brazoban if a ninth-inning fill-in is needed.

Philadelphia Phillies Trades

7/26: The Nationals acquire minor-leaguers RP Clayton Beeter and OF Browm Martinez from the Yankees in exchange for 2B/3B Amed Rosario.

Nationals fantasy impact: Rosario had been filling a bench role for the Nationals, so this move doesn't open up much extra playing time for any of his former teammates. Many of his starts came at second base against southpaws in place of Luis Garcia Jr., so it's possible Garcia will now move into a true everyday role for the final two months.

7/28: The Brewers acquire C Danny Jansen from the Rays in exchange for minor-league 2B/SS Jadher Areinamo.

Brewers fantasy impact: This looks like a big playing-time downgrade for Jansen, who goes from being the primary catcher in Tampa Bay to backing up William Contreras in Milwaukee, who leads the league in starts behind the plate this season. The Brewers likely want to give Contreras more rest, as he's been playing through a broken finger for much of the season and hasn't been the same at the plate as a result, but even if Jansen plays more than Eric Haase has so far, he still won't play as often as he did with the Rays.

Pittsburgh Pirates Trades

7/17: The Pirates acquire minor-league SS Cam Devanney from the Royals in exchange for 2B/LF Adam Frazier.

Pirates Fantasy Impact: Minimal. Frazier had already fallen into a bench role in Pittsburgh, with Nick Gonzales starting at second base and Tommy Pham starting in left field.

St. Louis Cardinals Trades

7/27: The Cardinals acquire cash considerations from the Braves in exchange for SP Erick Fedde.

Cardinals fantasy impact: The Cardinals designated Fedde for assignment shortly before the trade, so this deal has minimal implications. Michael McGreevy will step into Fedde's rotation spot the rest of the way, though that was already true once Fedde was removed from the major-league roster.

NL West

Arizona Diamondbacks Trades

7/24: The Diamondbacks acquire minor-leaguers RP Brandyn Garcia and SP Ashton Izzi from the Mariners in exchange for first baseman Josh Naylor.

Diamondbacks fantasy impact: The main beneficiary of this move looks to be Adrian Del Castillo. The 25-year-old was recently called up after missing most of the season with shoulder and back issues and has been serving as the strong side of a platoon at designated hitter. He would have been set to lose those at-bats once Pavin Smith (oblique) returns from the injured list, but with Naylor out the door, Smith can play first base while Del Castillo serves as the DH. Garcia, who recently made his MLB debut before being sent back down, could feature in Arizona's depleted bullpen but won't yet be ready for high-leverage innings.

7/26: The Diamondbacks acquire minor-league RP Andrew Hoffmann from the Royals in exchange for OF Randal Grichuk.

Diamondbacks fantasy impact: Grichuk has mostly been limited to starts against lefties this season, most recently in a sort of platoon with Alek Thomas which saw Grichuk starting in right field against lefties and Thomas starting in center field against righties, with Corbin Carroll taking whichever spot was left unoccupied. Carroll will now likely play right field full time, with one of Thomas or Jack McCarthy starting in center field against lefties despite the platoon disadvantage. Hoffmann made his first three MLB appearances this season and could help out a depleted Arizona bullpen down the stretch but is unlikely to be tasked with high-leverage innings.

Colorado Rockies Trades

7/25: The Rockies acquire minor-leaguers SP Griffin Herring and SP Josh Grosz from the Yankees in exchange for 3B Ryan McMahon.

Rockies fantasy impact: The move weakens an already weak Rockies lineup, though perhaps not by much, as McMahon was in the midst of a down year with a modest .714 OPS. Utility infielders Kyle Farmer (.607 OPS) and Orlando Arcia (.473 OPS) are the likeliest candidates to start at third base over the final two months unless the Rockies call up Kyle Karros, who's hit well in the minors this season but was only just promoted to Triple-A one week ago.

6/15: The Giants acquire DH Rafael Devers from the Red Sox in exchange for SP Kyle Harrison, RP Jordan Hicks and minor-leaguers OF James Tibbs and SP Jose Bello.

Giants fantasy impact: Moving from one of the league's best hitters' parks to one of its best pitchers' parks is a big downgrade for Devers himself, though adding one of the league's top sluggers to the heart of the order should boost the RBI and run-scoring chances of the hitters around him. Devers' arrival does mean fewer at-bats for Wilmer Flores, who's gone from full-time DH to splitting time at first base with Dominic Smith. Dealing away two major-league pitchers has thinned the Giants' rotation depth, reducing Hayden Birdsong's competition for the fifth starter spot. If an injury opens up a rotation spot, Carson Whisenhunt could now be the next man up.
