Jean-Philippe Mateta
28-Year-Old
Crystal Palace
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mateta got off to a slow start in his first full season under Oliver Glasner, and then he caught fire for a few months before finishing slow after busting his nose in March. Along with Crystal Palace as a whole, he tended to score his 14 goals in bunches, including three braces last season. Mateta isn't likely to push any of the elite strikers in the Premier League or top 20 goals, but with a strong attack built around him he should be a solid option for double-digit goals once more. No matter what happens in the squad around him, Mateta's role is as a true No. 9 who can score in a variety of ways.
Will play Sunday
Mateta will be available for Sunday's game against Chelsea, manager Olivier Glasner told media during Friday's press conference. "He will play on Sunday," Glasner said.
ANALYSIS
Mateta has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park before the end of the January transfer window, with Juventus and Aston Villa being linked with him. However, Glasner confirmed the Frenchman will be available. His presence provides a huge boost to the attack for Palace, especially with Eddie Nketiah (strain) being a doubt. Mateta has netted eight goals on 22 EPL appearances this season.

Nottingham submit offer
Nottingham Forest have made a £35 million bid for Mateta, according to The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
It would be shocking if Mateta stays in the Premier League after he was linked with a move to Juventus. Crystal Palace would be open to letting him leave Selhurst Park, but only if they receive a £40 million offer and are able to sign a replacement before the end of the January transfer window.
