2025 Fantasy Outlook
Mac Allister thrived in new boss Arne Slot's system, forming one of the best midfields in the league on the way to the title. While his offensive production wasn't improved from the final season under Jurgen Klopp (five goals, five assists), the way those goal contributions came was different. Instead of getting run in attacking midfield, Mac Allister was a consistent defensive midfielder alongside Ryan Gravenberch. Mac Allister also took on a larger role on set pieces under Slot, something that could continue with the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Returns in friendly
Mac Allister (undisclosed) was aiming for a return of injury in 10 days for the Community Shield but is already back on the pitch after coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's friendly against Yokohama.
ANALYSIS
Mac Allister is already back in action for the Reds following the complex injury that kept him off the pitch at the end of last season. The midfielder had been targeting a return for the Community Shield against Crystal Palace on Aug. 10 but now appears to be slightly ahead of schedule. This is a positive development as it gives him a chance to log minutes before the important match and continue building fitness ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Aims return for Community Shield
Mac Allister was spotted back in team training during pre-season and told Liverpoolfc.com that he is feeling good and hopes to be available for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the Community Shield, the club posted. "It has been a long time, a difficult time because it is never nice to be injured. But now I'm feeling good, it's just about time and getting fit because they have had a good pre-season so they are definitely in a different physical shape, so I have to get used [to it] again. But it's nice to be out there. [...] We have been working a lot in the gym, on my structure. It's hard to explain it but as I said, now I'm feeling good and for me that's the most important thing. Yeah, hopefully. That's the idea [to be available for the beginning of the season]. As I said, I need to work on my physical shape and get used again to the level of the boys. But I'm feeling really, really good, training with the team and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be fine for the beginning of the season and hopefully for the [Community Shield] as well."

Won't play again this season
Mac Allister (undisclosed) will miss the remainder of the season as he needs to rest a minor issue ahead of next season and the team does not want to take any risks, coach Arne Slot confirmed in a press conference. "Alexis will not play for us this season anymore. He needs rest at this moment in time to recover completely and to be ready for the start of next season, but it will be no problem for him to be back next season. I think he played throughout the last part of the season with the Argentinian mentality he has. Never gives up, no matter what he feels, but it is not smart to play a player that has, not a big injury but something to take a risk with."
