Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Higbee didn’t suit up until Week 16 last season as he worked his way back from a torn ACL suffered during the previous postseason, but the 32-year-old tight end showed he still has some gas left in the tank after his return. He caught eight of 12 targets for 66 yards and two touchdowns in three regular-season contests before adding 12 catches for 112 yards and one touchdown on 15 targets in two playoff games. That production came despite Higbee being eased back in with fewer than 41 percent of offensive snaps in every game until the Rams’ Divisional Round loss to the Eagles, in which he played 82 percent of snaps. He’s projected to operate as the team’s top TE in 2025 despite the addition of rookie second-round pick Terrance Ferguson to the tight end room, which should leave Higbee as Matthew Stafford’s third option in the passing game behind wide receivers Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, the latter of whom is replacing newly minted Seahawk Cooper Kupp. Higbee had between 495 and 620 receiving yards in every season between 2020 and 2023 and scored 15 touchdowns in that four-year span while playing a comparable role to the one he’s expected to fill in 2025. Invisible in victory
Higbee played 35 snaps on offense during Sunday's 14-9 win against the Texans.
ANALYSIS
For the first time since a Week 9 contest against Green Bay in 2023, the veteran tight end was held without a catch and failed to see even a target from Matthew Stafford. Higbee was on the field most out of the team's tight ends -- 35 of 60 snaps versus 29 for Colby Parkinson (shoulder) and 22 for Davis Allen -- but Parkinson and Allen recorded catches, and Allen scored what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown in the third quarter. Even with Parkinson suffering a sprained AC joint in the win, it'll be hard to trust Higbee or Allen for fantasy purposes given the amount of attention Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and Kyren Williams command in the offense; a Week 2 contest against a Titans defense that held Broncos tight ends in check last week doesn't bode well for a potential rebound, either.

Higbee came five yards short of reaching 500 for a fifth consecutive season in 2023, then tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in the wild-card playoff loss to the Lions in January. An optimistic nine-month recovery timetable would have the 31-year-old tight end back before midseason, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he missed most, or even all, of the 2024 campaign. The Rams signed Colby Parkinson to a three-year, $22.5 million contract in the offseason, and Parkinson figures to fill in for Higbee atop the depth chart but could also push Higbee for playing time even once Higbee’s ready to return.

Fellow TE hurts groin
Higbee has a chance to earn some breathing room in the competition for the top spot on the Rams' tight end depth chart, as Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports coach Sean McVay said Saturday that Terrance Ferguson has no clear return timetable due to a groin strain.
ANALYSIS
Ferguson didn't practice Saturday and looks likely to miss some additional time. Higbee is competing for playing time with the rookie second-round pick in a tight end room that also includes Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen.
