49ers vs. Seahawks Betting Odds
*Best lines at time of writing listed
- Moneyline: 49ers +290 (FanDuel), Seahawks -325 (BetMGM)
- Point spread: 49ers +7 (Fanatics), Seahawks -7 (Caesars)
- Totals: Over 44.5 points (FanDuel), Under 45.5 points (DraftKings)
The spread for this game has moved within a very tight range. The Seahawks have consistently been between 7- and 7.5-point favorites, unsurprising given Seattle's body of work, the Lumen Field setting and the fact they naturally come in with a significant rest advantage.
Meanwhile, the total has experienced a bit more volatility. The number was at 46.5 at the open, but it was then bet down all the way to 44.5 at some sportsbooks over the next 24 hours. The number continued to bounce between 44.5 and 45.5 over the next several days, and it remains between those two figures heading into the weekend depending on the sportsbook.

49ers vs. Seahawks Betting Picks
The two regular-season games between these two division rivals were defensive slugfests. The Niners prevailed by a 17-13 score in Week 1, and the Seahawks returned the favor in Week 18, recording a 13-3 victory to clinch the NFC's top seed.
San Francisco is likely going to be hard-pressed to fare much better than it did in Week 18. The Seahawks' advantages are numerous, ranging anywhere from the setting of the game to the depth of the respective rosters.
We can start with Lumen Field, where Seattle was 6-2 straight up during the regular season, with the only two losses coming in that four-point defeat to the Niners, and a three-point stumble in a wild shootout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seahawks come into Saturday on a five-game home winning streak and finished the campaign with a +10.4-point average scoring margin at home.
Then there's the rest advantage, which comes virtue of the first-round bye Seattle earned at the expense of the 49ers. That edge is further exacerbated by the fact the Niners have significant injury concerns, particularly on defense, where starting strong safety Ji'Ayir Brown has been ruled out due to a hamstring issue, Fred Warner won't return from his ankle injury, Tatum Bethune is on the Reserve/Injured list, and both Luke Gifford and Dee Winters are both questionable because of quadriceps and ankle injuries, respectively.
The offense is hampered as well, considering Ricky Pearsall could well miss yet another game because of a knee injury, and George Kittle is sidelined until deep into next season because of the Achilles' tear suffered in the wild-card win in Philadelphia. That leaves San Francisco's offense perilously thin against a talented Seahawks defense that allowed an NFC-low 17.2 points per game and 4.6 yards per play, while dominating the 49ers in Week 18.
The one other main factor worth mentioning is the oblique injury that Sam Darnold appeared to suffer during Thursday's practice. Head coach Mike Macdonald expressed optimism that Darnold would play Saturday, and the two wagers listed below are naturally based on the veteran signal-caller suiting up, as would appear likely given the importance of the game.

49ers vs. Seahawks Prediction
As already detailed, the Seahawks, at least on paper, are nearly bulletproof here. Assuming Darnold's oblique issue isn't a significant hindrance, Seattle should be able to control the game environment on both sides of the ball as the game unfolds. The shorthanded Niners naturally won't go down without a fight – and there's certainly a chance scoring is somewhat suppressed given how well both teams know each other – but I see the hosts eventually pulling away and advancing.
Seahawks 28, 49ers 16
