College Basketball Pick'em Today: PrizePicks Plays for Tuesday, January 27

After a quiet Monday on the college hardwood, we have a full CBB DFS slate Tuesday night, and there are plenty of huge matchups. The biggest might be the Nebraska-Michigan battle in Ann Arbor, as two top-5 teams collide on Peacock at 7 p.m. ET. We have 10 ranked teams in action, and another big game to watch is the Purdue-Indiana battle at 9 p.m. ET, also on Peacock, and also in the Big Ten. Missouri-Alabama in the SEC has the potential to be very entertaining, too.

We're here to help provide a trio of picks on select days throughout the week, hopefully helping you get into the black, as we head into the holidays and the New Year. It's never too early to start squirreling away money for March Madness.

College Basketball PrizePicks Picks & Strategy

If you're unfamiliar with how to play, you must simply choose at least two players from any sport and pick more or less based on their projected statistics to win. We'll obviously be exclusively selecting college hoops players, but you can mix and match from various other sports. You can also go with a flex play, meaning you still can have a winning night even if you have one losing selection. Or, you can go big and choose the power play, which pays out higher. However, you must hit all ends to win. Let's get started.

Pryce Sandfort, F, Nebraska

We're going to find out a lot about "Nebrasketball" on Tuesday night, as the Cornhuskers roll into Crisler Center, putting one of the nation's three unbeaten records on the line. Nebraska is 20-0 on the season -- the best start in school history.

One of the biggest keys to the success of the Huskers has been Sandfort. He leads the team with 17.3 points per game (PPG), while contributing 4.6 rebounds (RPG), 2.1 assists (APG) and 1.2 steals (SPG) per game, while hitting 48.6 percent from the field, and 41.7 percent from behind the three-point line. He is also an exceptional free-throw shooter at 83.3 percent.

Sandfort's projections are a bit muted, as Michigan is allowing just 68.6 PPG, ranking 43rd in the nation, while limiting teams to just 36.5 percent shooting from the field, ranking No. 2 in the country. The Wolverines can be had from the perimeter, allowing 30.2 percent from behind the arc. Look to Sandfort to get just across the finish line in this titanic matchup.

CBB PrizePicks Selection: Pryce Sandfort, More 16.5 Points

AJ Lopez, G, Richmond

Lopez leads the Spiders into this Atlantic 10 conference matchup against the crosstown rival Virginia Commonwealth Rams at the Siegel Center in Richmond at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

While Lopez is averaging 12.7 PPG this season, he has been on a big-time roll lately, going for 15 or more points in three of the past four games, and five of the past seven outings. In addition, he is hitting 50.0 percent or better in four consecutive games, and six of the previous seven outings.

VCU hasn't been nearly as strong as past seasons. The Rams have been susceptible to the three, allowing teams to hit 34.8 percent, ranking 264th in the country. VCU also allows 73.7 PPG (139th), and 44.2 percent (204th) from the field. Look for Lopez to keep humming right along.

CBB PrizePicks Selection: AJ Lopez, More 12.5 Points

Fletcher Loyer, G, Purdue

Loyer and the Boilermakers clash with their rival Indiana Hoosiers at the Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana, home of the national champions in football. That will never stop sounding weird.

Anyway, Loyer has really been in a rut lately. If you're read this column frequently, you know I don't like to cheer against players, or kick someone when they're down. But, money is money, too. Loyer is really having a tough time, scoring seven or fewer points in the past three games, averaging just 6.0 PPG in the span, while hitting just 5-of-20 (25.0 percent) from the field, and 2-of-12 (16.7 percent) from behind the arc.

Indiana hasn't dominated this season, but it has been pretty decent on defense, allowing just 69.4 PPG (56th), 40.9 percent (49th) from the field and 30.6 percent (58th) from behind the three-point line. Let's take Loyer to struggle again, scoring again in single digits.

CBB PrizePicks Selection: Fletcher Loyer, Under 10.5 Points
