2025 Fantasy Outlook
Demko missed two months at the start of the season while recovering from a knee injury, and he also missed another month down the stretch due to a separate and unrelated lower-body injury. When healthy, Demko's play was far from his peak -- he went 10-8-3 with a 2.90 GAA and a .889 save percentage over 23 games. Given the nature of his previous knee injury, Demko represents a significant injury risk in fantasy. He's also got a lengthy list of other ailments over the years, though he should benefit from having a full offseason after the Canucks fell short of the playoffs. Even with a number of red flags, Demko is a talented goalie, so he's worth taking a gamble on in drafts for managers who have an otherwise trustworthy group of netminders. Read Past Outlooks
First win since return
Demko stopped 25 of 26 shots on goal and tallied an assist in Sunday's 2-1 win over New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Demko allowed just one goal in the second period en route to one of his strongest performances of the season. With the win, he now has a 6-5-0 record with a 2.67 GAA and a .903 save percentage through 12 appearances this season. His win Sunday was his first since returning to Vancouver's lineup from a lower-body injury. The 30-year-old netminder has dealt with multiple lower-body injuries over the last two seasons, as he's appeared in just 35 games since the start of last year's campaign. When he is healthy, however, Demko looks poised for a bounce-back season after posting a sub-.900 save percentage for the first time in his career a season ago. His next chance to guard the crease is Tuesday against the Rangers.

Demko capped a career season in 2023-24 with a second-place finish in Vezina voting. He posted career highs in wins (35), save percentage (.918), goals-against (2.45) and shutouts (five). Additionally, he is the fifth active twine-tender to hit the 30-win mark in 40 games or less. Amidst the brilliance were two injuries - a knee injury March 5 that put him out for 14 games and a season-ending injury in Game 1 against Nashville. Don't forget he missed a significant number of games in 2022-23 with a groin injury. Demko is one of the most technically perfect goalies in the NHL and among the most driven, but to keep him in elite form, Vancouver must address load management to allow the kind of rest and recovery that will keep him in the blue paint. Even with his injury risk, Demko is an elite fantasy option.
