3 Most-Added Fantasy Basketball Players on Yahoo
Bub Carrington, Wizards
Bub Carrington's box score from Friday night jumps off the page. In a season-high workload, Carrington erupted for 27 points, eight assists, six rebounds and a steal in 41 minutes against Cleveland. It followed another start in which he logged 14 points, nine assists and two rebounds across 37 minutes versus Atlanta.
Carrington needed a perfect storm of injuries to even sniff this kind of role, and his prior body of work offers very little confidence that this production is sustainable. In his 21 games before this two-game stretch, Carrington was shooting a rough 33.6% from the field. While he's unlikely to remain that inefficient long-term, he's also very unlikely to replicate a game where he takes 20 shots and converts 10 of them.
There are no meaningful indicators here — usage trends, efficiency gains, or role security — that suggest Carrington is on the verge of becoming a reliable fantasy option.
Fantasy managers can justify Carrington as a one-game streamer for Sunday, especially in points leagues or deeper formats. Just don't mistake this heater for a true waiver-wire breakout.
Julian Champagnie, Spurs
Julian Champagnie continues to find his way onto the waiver wire thanks to consistent minutes and a fantasy-friendly profile. With the Spurs playing an NBA Cup game tonight, Champagnie becomes an obvious streaming option, though drawing the Thunder isn't exactly a dream matchup.
At this point, we know who Champagnie is as a fantasy asset: a threes-and-rebounds streamer who can fill gaps when schedules align. He's not a high-usage scorer, nor does he offer elite defensive stats, but he's generally efficient within his role.
The return of Victor Wembanyama will inevitably cap Champagnie's ceiling, but it likely won't eliminate his role altogether. He's played well enough to maintain rotation minutes, even if the upside dips.
For managers in deep leagues, Champagnie is still worth holding beyond tonight. The floor is relatively safe, and his shooting and rebounding remain useful in the right builds. In standard leagues, he's more of a matchup- and schedule-based add.
Goga Bitadze, Magic
Goga Bitadze doesn't generate headlines, but he continues to be one of the most productive per-minute bigs available on waivers. With Orlando facing the Knicks in an NBA Cup game, Bitadze makes for a clean stream, and potentially more than that.
Over his past seven games, Bitadze is averaging: 7 points, six rebounds, one assist, and 2.2 stocks in just 17 minutes per game.
That level of defensive production in limited run is hard to find, and it's translated into top-130 fantasy value over the past month. Managers in deep leagues should already be taking notice.
There's also an important long-term angle here. Wendell Carter Jr. has an extensive injury history, and Bitadze has repeatedly shown he can step into a larger role without fantasy drop-off when called upon.
While Bitadze isn't a must-add in standard formats, he should absolutely be rostered in deep leagues and treated as one of the better stash-and-hold centers available.
