Diaz reportedly wanted a move out of Liverpool, but the club was adamant that he wasn't for sale. While 2024/25 was his best season for end product with 13 goals and five assists, it's worth noting that he made the switch to central striker at times and wasn't overly efficient there. He still profiles as one of Liverpool's strikers for the coming season, but there's by no means a guaranteed role for him in this XI despite his 60 starts the past two campaigns. However, if the starts remain, Diaz has double-digit goal upside with five or so assists no matter his position, keeping him plenty relevant in fantasy.
Signs with FC Bayern
Diaz has signed a four-year contract with FC Bayern, joining from Liverpool FC, his new club announced. "Luis is a goal threat, a scorer, and at the same time, he works incredibly hard for his team. He is fast, a versatile footballer, and brings an intense style of play to the pitch. He has also gained extensive experience at the top level with Liverpool and the Colombian national team. Luis represents a complete package that our fans will appreciate," said Christoph Freund, FC Bayern Sporting Director.

His performances caught attention in Europe, leading FC Porto to sign him in 2019. Diaz played 125 official games with the Dragoes, scoring 41 goals. Liverpool FC then signed him during the winter transfer window in 2022, and he has since made 148 appearances for the Reds, contributing 41 goals and 23 assists. The Colombian winger has also scored 19 goals in 64 games for his country and will now discover a new league and country with FC Bayern, where he is expected to become a regular starter on the left wing of the Bavarians' frontline.
