Filip Ugrinic
26-Year-Old
Valencia
La Liga
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Ugrinic has been one of the best midfielders in Switzerland throughout his career, consistently appearing in the Champions League, but rarely making deep runs. He now gets his chance in a top league, joining as a likely starter at the base of the Valencia midfield. He generally played further up the pitch for Young Boys, so his upside could be more limited in a central role with Valencia. Ugrinic's best seasons hovered around 10 goal contributions, in Spain it's likely that's limited to just a handful of involvements.
Assists off bench in draw
Ugrinic assisted once to go with three crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Sevilla.
ANALYSIS
Ugrinic set up Hugo Duro with a low ball from the left flank in stoppage time against Sevilla. The Swiss played 27 minutes as a substitute for Andre Almeida, and the assist was his second in six appearances (zero starts) this season. While his playing time has been limited so far, Ugrinic may be reliable for playmaking stats if he gets involved more consistently, especially because he has taken set pieces on occasion.

The discomfort started in the second week and increased until the Girona match. It's a typical patellar tendon injury, and I'm following the medical staff's timeline to begin a series of treatments. He's currently working with the rehabilitation specialists and adapting to the training load, and he'll be reintegrated into the group dynamic."
