2025 Fantasy Outlook
Moehrig was a key contributor to the Raiders' secondary throughout his rookie contract, though the team opted to sign Jeremy Chinn this offseason and let Moehrig walk in free agency. He instead landed a substantial three-year, $51 million deal with a Panthers' defense that was desperate to improve. His consistent strengths as a pro have been his ability to support in run defense and reliably get ball carriers to the ground. His fit in Carolina is ideal in that regard, as he should work primarily as the strong safety, with Demani Richardson and Nick Scott the favorites to see snaps at free safety, hiding some of his deficiencies in coverage. Given the investment Carolina made in Moehrig, he's a safe bet to be on the field, and his projected role should make him a reliable fantasy producer. Read Past Outlooks
Cleared to play Week 3
Moehrig (illness) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons.
ANALYSIS
Moehrig was under the weather Thursday and missed practice, but he's good to go for Sunday's NFC South tilt with Atlanta. Moehrig has recorded 20 tackles (14 solo) on 100 percent of the defensive snaps through two games.

Entering the final year of his rookie contract, the 2021 second-rounder is coming off a productive 2023 campaign in which he notched a career-high 83 tackles (65 solo), eight passes defensed, three interceptions and 2.0 sacks in 17 games. A repeat of this performance would do wonders for Moehrig in extension negotiations, and as long as he stays healthy, he'll be on the field at safety for a majority of the Raiders' defensive snaps in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could lead turnaround in run D
Mike Sando of The Athletic believes the addition of Moehrig could spearhead a turnaround in Carolina's run defense in 2025.
ANALYSIS
The Panthers allowed 179.8 rushing yards per game in 2024, which is the highest average given up by an NFL team since the Falcons allowed 182.3 in 1987. Pro Football Focus ranked Moehrig as the league's fifth-best safety against the run in 2024 with the Raiders, so he's set to address a key area of need for the Panthers after signing a three-year, $51 million contract with Carolina in free agency.
