2025 Fantasy Outlook
Joseph cashed in with a four-year contract extension in the offseason, which was well-deserved after another impressive campaign in 2024. The safety registered 83 total tackles while also adding 12 passes defensed, including an NFL-leading nine interceptions, over 17 regular-season games. Joseph has now snatched 17 picks over three years in Detroit, and he ranks second to only linebacker Alex Anzalone (317) in total tackles since 2022, posting 248 stops over that time. He once again figures to be at the top of his position in production in the league this season. Read Past Outlooks
Possible IR candidate
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Friday that Joseph (knee) is a possible injured reserve candidate, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Joseph appeared as a limited participant in practice Wednesday but appeared to have suffered a setback after no participation Thursday or Friday. It looks as though the 25-year-old is set to miss an extended period of time, and it's currently unknown when he will return this season. Thomas Harper will remain as a starting safety in Kerby's absence.

2022
Joseph had himself an impressive 2023 campaign with Detroit, securing 82 tackles, 11 pass deflections and four interceptions while not allowing a touchdown in coverage over 15 games. The 23-year-old will enter his third season in the NFL as the Lions' undisputed top option at free safety as both Tracy Walker and C.J. Gardner-Johnson no longer are in the picture. Joseph could be set to cross the 100-tackle threshold this season while working alongside Brian Branch in what Detroit's defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn hopes to be an improved secondary in 2024.

ANALYSIS
Joseph has been sidelined since Week 7 and missed each of the Lions' last six games. He practiced for the first time since suffering the injury Monday, logging a limited practice. However, he remains without a clear timeline to return to game action. Joseph also suggested through his own comments that he isn't likely to be fully healed this season, which could limit his snaps and role down the stretch.
