Out for Sunday
Okudah (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Falcons, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Okudah sustained a concussion during the Vikings' Week 1 win over the Bears and hasn't cleared protocol, making him unable to suit up Sunday. Before exiting the Week 1 win, the 26-year-old played 14 defensive snaps and recorded two solo tackles. With Okudah and Isaiah Rodgers (elbow) both dealing with injuries, the only cornerbacks on Minnesota's current roster without injury designations are Tavierre Thomas, Byron Murphy and Dwight McGlothern.

The Texans invested second-round draft capital in 2024 on cornerback Kamari Lassiter but may not be ready to hand him the open spot opposite Derek Stingley. As such, they added Okudah during the offseason. He's yet to make an impact in four NFL seasons and Houston will be his third team in the last three years. Okudah has started 31 games (played in 38) during his time in the NFL. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans believes both he and fellow free agent CJ Henderson can play man coverage, which was the most important skill the coach talked about during OTAs.

ANALYSIS
The third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Okudah has had his career derailed by injuries. Last season with the Texans, the 26-year-old managed to play only 74 defensive snaps over six regular-season games and was exclusively a special-teams contributor during Houston's two playoff contests. Okudah will likely have to settle for a depth role wherever he ends up playing in 2025.
