2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taken 92nd overall in last year's draft, McMillan was the subject of considerable camp hype and won Tampa Bay's No. 3 WR job before Week 1, but it wasn't until December that he broke through as an important part of the offense. Heading into Week 14, he'd played eight games and missed four with injuries, catching 13 of 27 targets while failing to take advantage of injuries to Chris Godwin and then Mike Evans. The rookie then scored seven TDs over the final five games of the regular season, with at least four catches, five targets and 57 total yards in each contest, before quieting down some in a playoff loss to Washington (2-41-0). The Buccaneers decided to re-sign Godwin anyway, and then took Ohio State WR Emeka Egbuka in the first round, all after losing offensive coordinator Liam Coen to Jacksonville -- a trio of developments that harm McMillan's breakout case for 2025. As if that weren't bad enough, McMillan suffered a severe neck sprain during the preseason and is now expected to miss a large chunk of the regular season. He could have some value late in the season if the Buccaneers are missing Evans, Godwin and/or Egubka once McMillan returns. Read Past Outlooks

Two catches in season debut
McMillan (neck) brought in both targets for 38 yards in the Buccaneers' 29-28 loss to the Falcons on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Making his long-awaited season debut following his recovery from a preseason neck injury, McMillan looked good while bringing in a pair of 19-yard grabs. One of those catches was originally ruled a 20-yard touchdown reception that was overturned on replay, when it was determined McMillan hadn't broken the plane of the goal line. The second-year wideout will have a chance to build on what was an encouraging initial performance when the Bucs travel to Carolina for a key Week 16 clash with the Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 21.

McMillan caught 79 passes for 1,089 yards and nine touchdowns for Washington in 2022, but a knee injury held him back last season and allowed Ja'Lynn Polk to emerge as the Huskies' new No. 2 receiver. McMillan recovered some of his draft stock with a solid showing at the 2024 Combine -- 4.47 40, 37-inch vertical, 127-inch broad jump, 6.94-second cone drills -- and ended up going to the Bucs late in Round 3 with the 92nd overall pick. Meanwhile, new Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen has said he envisions Chris Godwin in the slot rather than mostly playing outside the way he did last year. McMillan thus figures to compete with incumbent No. 3 receiver Trey Palmer for a role that will largely entail perimeter snaps in three-wide sets. While it probably won't be a high-volume role if everyone is healthy, McMillan could be tasked with much more if Godwin or Mike Evans misses time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Appears likely to play Thursday
McMillan, who's yet to make his regular-season debut because of a serious neck injury that he suffered in a preseason game against the Steelers, was activated from injured reserve Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday's game against the Falcons, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McMillan had his 21-day practice window activated last week, and he's subsequently put in six limited practices. Head coach Todd Bowles has been impressed with how both McMillan and fellow sidelined receiver Mike Evans have performed, noting the duo "looked good, they looked fresh, they ran great routes, they looked like they never left." McMillan appears likely to make his season debut against Atlanta and will probably serve as the No. 4 receiver, but final confirmation on his availability will arrive when the team releases its inactives list 90 minutes prior to the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff.
