2025 Fantasy Outlook
Fatukasi dealt with foot and ankle injuries in 2024 but managed to make 11 regular season starts and recorded 24 tackles along with a sack. Houston was happy with Fatukasi's efforts, which helped fill a void created by the departure of Sheldon Rankins and Maliek Collins, and inked him for another year. He won't generate a lot of sacks, but Fatukasi makes his money as a run stuffer, leading the Texans in run stuff rate (4.8 percent) and tied for third with eight run stuff tackles. Read Past Outlooks
Not ready for training camp
Fatukasi (undisclosed) was placed on the active/PUP list Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It's not entirely clear what Fatukasi is dealing with, but the defensive lineman did miss the final three games of the regular season last year due to an ankle injury. The Texans overall might be taking a cautious approach with a number of their veterans, as 13 players were either placed on the non-football injury list or PUP list to begin training camp. The 30-year-old Fatukasi re-signed with Houston on a one-year deal late in the offseason and is expected to be a key rotational defensive lineman much like he was last season.

The Texans had a couple of productive defense tackles in 2023 but opted to move on from Sheldon Rankins and Maliek Collins. To help shore up the middle, Houston signed Fatukasi, a run stopper who played for Jacksonville last season and spent time with the Jets under current Texans defensive coordinator Matt Burke. Fatukasi doesn't get to the quarterback much and is expected to be part of a three-man rotation.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be seeking around $8 million
Fatuaksi is thought to be looking for around $8 million per season on his next contract, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Cimini is unsure if the Jets will be willing to meet that asking price for the 27-year-old defensive lineman. On one hand, Fatukasi didn't register a sack last season, and the Jets already are paying big money to Carl Lawson, Quinnen Williams and John Franklin-Myers on the defensive line. On the other, Fatukasi grades out as one of the league's best run defenders, and a New York defense that ranked among the worst in the league at defending the run last season can ill afford to lose one of its few bright spots in that regard.
