2025 Fantasy Outlook
Salter joins Coach Prime at Colorado from Liberty, where he threw 1,886 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 587 yards and seven more scores. This was a decrease in production from his spectacular 2023 season when he totaled 44 touchdowns on his way to Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year. He'll look to get back to that kind of dual-threat production; however, he'll have to first win the starting job over five-star phenom and freshman Julian Lewis. Coach Prime brought both quarterbacks to Big 12 Media Days, which could signal that it's a true competition and both talented signal-callers may see the field in 2025. Either way, Colorado is stacked with talent, including Drelon Miller, Omarion Miller, and transfers Hykeem Williams and Joseph Williams. If the experienced Salter does win the starting job, he should put up sizable numbers in Colorado's uptempo offense, and he's worthy of a draft slot in most fantasy leagues, given that upside. Pledges to Coach Prime
Salter will transfer to Colorado, Max Olson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Colorado has set itself up beautifully at the quarterback position. In the 2025 recruiting class, it signed top signal caller Julian "Ju Ju" Lewis, and now it's added a veteran to be a bridge quarterback between him and Shedeur Sanders. Salter isn't just any veteran, though - he's been a starter with Liberty for the better part of three years and is coming off a season in which he tossed for 1,886 yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions while completing 56.3 percent of his passes. Salter is also a dual threat quarterback, as he added 587 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground this fall. He'll be the immediate favorite at QB1 in Boulder.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Salter wasn't locked in as the starter heading into fall camp in 2023, but how the tides have turned since then. He ran with the starting gig, both figuratively and literally, racking up 1,089 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns under the tutelage of Jamey Chadwell, who had similar success with Grayson McCall while at Coastal Carolina. Salter added 2,876 passing yards and a 32:6 TD:INT ratio, trailing only Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix in fantasy production. He enters 2024 as arguably the top fantasy quarterback alongside Nix's replacement at Oregon in Dillon Gabriel. Salter does lose CJ Daniels from his receiving corps, which shouldn't be understated, but Treon Sibley returns and the Flames add a bevy of transfer wideouts to fill the gaps in the passing attack. LIberty's schedule remains among the easiest in the college football ranks in 2024, so there's little reason Salter can't replicate his 2023 output this season.
