Which CFB Teams Have Battled The Most Injuries in 2025?
Entering Week 4 of the 2025 college football calendar, it's fair to say that the injury bug has played a large role for Utah State, Nebraska, Rutgers, Illinois and Navy.
Those five teams have seen the most issues with injuries this year, according to our index.
The USU Aggies lead the way in the worst way as coach Bronco Mendenhall's bunch has 22 players on the injury report, notching the Mountain West program 84 points in total. Still, it's not all bad news for the Logan institution, as Utah State's coming off a 49-30 rout of Air Force over the weekend, with the Aggies scoring 35 second half points to put away the visitors from Colorado Springs.
In the case of the Cornhuskers, Week 3 was even rosier, injuries aside. Nebraska lambasted FCS program Houston Christian, 59-7, to improve to 3-0, though coach Matt Rhule's squad is racking up injuries at an alarming rate.
The Lincoln-based Big Ten member has 18 players on its injury report in Week 4, as Nebraska hosts 21st-ranked Michigan at 2:30 p.m. Central time on Saturday. The Huskers have 68 points on our scale, six ahead of the Scarlet Knights.
In Rutgers' case, a 3-0 start to the year with victories over Ohio, Miami (OH) and Norfolk State has been offset by having 16 players on the injury report. Illinois has 12 players (and 54 points total) and the Midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy have 10 injured players and 52 points to round out our CFB injury report top five.
Outside of those five, teams looking to heal quickly include Notre Dame (50 points), Stanford, Clemson and Texas Tech (46 each) and Michigan (42) are on our list for the most injured FBS collectives as we approach Week 4 of the calendar.
Overall, the team on our injury leaderboard with the best CFP title odds, per bet365 Sportsbook, is the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame is at +2200 odds to win it all in 2025 despite starting the year 0-2, while Clemson and Michigan are both listed at +5000 to do the same this fall.
