Sticking with Yankees
Rosario signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Yankees on Saturday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
Analysis
Rosario appeared in just 16 regular-season games after being traded from the Nationals to the Yankees, during which he went 10-for-33 with a homer and five RBI. The 30-year-old will now return to the Bronx and provide the Pinstripes with a bench piece who is capable of playing nearly every defensive position and slashed .302/.328/.491 against southpaws in 2025.

The Dodgers, Rays and Reds have all failed to coax anything more out of Rosario over the past two seasons. Los Angeles at least thought enough of Rosario to bring him back in July after he finished 2023 with the club, though the reunion only lasted a couple weeks before the Dodgers moved on. After being claimed off waivers by the Reds, Rosario went on to hit .158/.186/.211 across 59 plate appearances. He famously co-headlined the trade that sent Francisco Lindor to Queens, but that was a lifetime ago in today's MLB. Rosario inked a one-year deal with the Nationals in January and will fill a utility role, with most of his playing time likely to come against left-handed pitching. The power and speed are not completely gone, but he will be a tough sell in shallow mixed leagues.

Yankees remain in touch
The Yankees have checked in on Rosario this offseason, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.
Analysis
Rosario went 10-for-33 with one home run over 16 games after being acquired by the Yankees at the trade deadline. The right-handed-hitting Rosario is a career .298/.336/.464 hitter versus left-handed pitching, so he remains a fit on a Yankees club that leans lefty.
