Best WNBA Bets Today: Friday, August 22

Satou Sabally to score 20+ points (+150) versus Golden State Valkyries

DraftKings Sportsbook, 12:10 p.m. CT

Kirien Sprecher: Sabally has failed to score at least 20 points only three times when she's played at least 30 minutes this season. Her minutes have been limited recently, and Phoenix is playing the second night of a back-to-back set. However, they may be without Kahleah Copper, who left Thursday's contest early due to a rib injury. If that's the case, the Mercury will need more minutes out of Sabally, who's scored 20-plus points 12 times this season.

Odyssey Sims over 11.5 points (-115) versus Minnesota Lynx

DraftKings Sportsbook, 12:15 p.m. CT

Kirien Sprecher: Sims played 42 minutes during her first start with the Fever in Connecticut last week. Over the last two games, she's totaled 30 points. No reason Sims' elevated role shouldn't continue Friday, as Caitlin Clark (groin), Sophie Cunningham (knee), Aari McDonald (foot) and Sydney Colson (knee) all remain out for the foreseeable future.

Paige Bueckers to score 20+ Points (+100) versus Seattle Storm

FanDuel Sportsbook, 11:15 a.m. CT

Steve Bulanda: Injuries have been a problem for Dallas all season, and now Arike Ogunbowale, who has missed the past four games, is expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks. It's clear that without Ogunbowale, the offense is going to run through Bueckers and Maddy Siegrist. Bueckers is averaging 26.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5 assists, while Siegrist is averaging 18.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in the past four games. The books have Dallas's over/under point total set at 80.5, and considering the lack of offensive firepower in tonight's lineup, the only way the Wings get to that number is if Paige goes for at least 20.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Steve has served several roles with RotoWire, starting as an intern working on breaking news and analysis, moving to NBA beat writer and (years later) taking over as "marketing guy" and multi-sport contributor. He's also the undisputed best bowler at RotoWire, with multiple 800 series and 300 games. He will be thrilled when fantasy bowling becomes a thing someday.
Kirien Sprecher is a University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate who has covered the NBA, NFL and MLB for RotoWire since early 2021. In his free time, Kirien is probably arguing a foul call during a pickup basketball game at a local rec center.
