Marin has departed Cagliari to join AEK Athens on a permanent signing.

Marin progressively lost prominence in the last pair of seasons and was no longer a fixture of the XI, so he opted to leave Serie A to move to Greece after a five-year run. He also spent two campaigns at Empoli in the recent past.
