Mio Backhaus Injury: Suffers shoulder injury
Backhaus suffered a shoulder injury in training and is ruled out for Friday's clash against Bayern, coach Horst Steffen said in the press conference. "There was a collision in training that resulted in a shoulder injury. The pain is preventing him from traveling to Munich. His ligaments may have been slightly damaged, so an accurate diagnosis is needed to determine when he will be available again."
Backhaus will have to undergo scans in the coming days after suffering a shoulder injury in training following a collision with a teammate, leaving him in pain and unavailable for Saturday's clash against Bayern. This is bad news for Bremen since Backhaus has been the undisputed starting goalkeeper following the departure of Michael Zetterer, and his absence will force a change in the starting XI with Karl Jakob Hein set to see his first minutes with his new club.
