Hollowell agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl on Wednesday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Hollowell never made an NHL appearance for the Penguins last year, spending the entirety of the campaign with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. With the Baby Pens, the 26-year-old blueliner notched one goal and 30 helpers across 56 contests. Selected by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, Hollowell would need to really impress in the KHL this year to earn his way back into an NHL organization.

Hollowell could be called up by Pittsburgh after the trade deadline, Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Hollowell has long ties to Penguins GM Kyle Dubas, who drafted him both with the OHL Soo Greyhounds and Toronto Maple Leafs before signing the blueliner to a deal this offseason. The 26-year-old defenseman has notched 26 points in 40 minor-league games with the Baby Pens this year, showing his offensive upside. According to Yohe, if the team moves a blueliner or two at the deadline, Hollowell could be tasked with replacing them on the NHL roster.
