2025 Fantasy Outlook
Slafkovsky has emerged as a power forward with a bright future early in his NHL career. He isn't the most consistent scorer, but he's leading the way as a top-line player already for the Canadiens, who are poised to be a competitive team in the Atlantic Division moving forward. Slafkovsky had 18 goals, 33 assists, 133 shots on net, 194 hits, 62 blocked shots and 45 PIM over 79 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. He's shot at least 13 percent in each of the last two years, which is a testament to the high level of skill that made him the No. 1 overall pick in 2022. An increase in shot volume would go a long way to improving his output, but natural growth should have him in contention for 20 goals and 60 points in 2025-26. Read Past Outlooks
Supplies two power-play helpers
Slafkovsky notched two power-play assists, three shots on goal and two PIM in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Oilers.
ANALYSIS
Slafkovsky has gone six games without a goal, but he has five helpers in that span. Three of those assists have come with the man advantage, which is where he set up goals by Ivan Demidov and Nick Suzuki in Sunday's win. Slafkovsky is up to 20 points (11 on the power play) while adding 63 shots, 56 hits, 29 blocked shots, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 32 appearances. He's firmly in a top-six role, but he still needs to elevate his even-strength offense a bit.

2022
When you tally 20 goals and 50 points, including 14 power-play points, in your first full NHL season, you generally get rewarded with a sizable NHL contract. That was the case for Slafkovsky, who signed a max-length eight-year, $60.8 million contract extension with the Canadiens this offseason. Based on his new deal, the team appears to be expecting even bigger things out of the 20-year-old power forward, something that certainly isn't out of the question - though he will need to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. Barring that potential slump, Slafkovsky should be capable of producing at an elite level heading into the 2024-25 campaign, making him a top-end fantasy target.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Sitting out Worlds
Slafkovsky won't join Slovakia for the 2025 IIHF World Championship, Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Slafkovsky is coming off back-to-back 50-point campaigns with the Habs, so he shouldn't have to be too worried that he'll be left off the 2026 Winter Olympic roster for Slovakia. While he didn't manage to hit the 20-goal threshold this year, the 21-year-old winger should be capable of pushing for that mark in 2025-26, making him a solid fantasy option -- especially in formats that utilize hits, of which he registered 194 this past year over 79 regular-season games.
