2025 Fantasy Outlook
Miller found a new level to his game when he joined Vancouver in 2019-20, and after signing a seven-year, $56 million contract with the Canucks that began in 2023-24, it looked like he would spend the remainder of his career there. However, circumstances changed, and he waived his no-movement clause to be dealt to the Rangers in January. He was already familiar with the franchise -- Miller was originally drafted by New York back in 2011 and spent his first five-plus NHL seasons with the Rangers, so he settled in nicely. Miller had 13 goals and 35 points across 32 appearances with the Rangers in 2024-25 after accumulating nine goals and 35 points in 40 outings with Vancouver before the trade. The 32-year-old has now reached the 70-point total in each of the last five full seasons. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him hit the 80-point milestone this season. Read Past Outlooks
Nets winning goal in OT
Miller scored two goals, including the game-winning goal, placed three shots on net and dished out three hits in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Miller played the hero for New York in Saturday's contest, tying the game at 4-4 midway through the second period before potting the game-winning goal in overtime. The 32-year-old forward is up to nine goals, 20 points, 66 shots on net and 71 hits through 31 games this season. After an inconsistent start to the season offensively, he has eight points in his last nine games. Not only has he done more to help bolster his case to play with Team USA at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina, but he has also brought his value in fantasy back up to a high level in most formats. Miller's producing at a 53-point pace this season, but he's likely to pick things up after reaching the 70-point threshold in each of the previous four regular seasons.

Miller is a reliable all-around contributor. His offense naturally stands out the most, especially after setting career highs with 37 goals and 103 points across 81 outings in 2023-24. That's the third straight campaign where he's surpassed the 30-goal and 80-point marks, so the 31-year-old seems like a safe bet to at least reach those milestones again in 2024-25 so long as he stays healthy. However, Miller's physicality is also worthy of mention. He finished last season with 58 PIM and 217 hits, making him the only player to finish with at least 75 points and 200 hits and one of just two players to record a minimum of 50 points and 200 hits (the other being Brady Tkachuk). Miller is a good late first-round pick and an excellent early second-round grab in 12-team fantasy leagues, especially in formats that count or heavily reward hits.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Injury not thought to be serious
Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports Monday that Miller appears to have avoided a serious lower-body injury.
ANALYSIS
Miller left Monday's practice early after sustaining a lower-body injury while lunging for the puck during a drill. However, it doesn't seem like the veteran center is dealing with a major injury, as there is hope he could practice Tuesday, per Mercogliano. The 32-year-old Miller will have two more chances to suit up in the preseason after Monday's tune-up game against the Islanders.
