Thrun didn't take a large step forward in his second NHL campaign, earning 12 points, 66 blocked shots, 43 hits and a minus-23 rating over 60 appearances for the Sharks. He dealt with both lower-body and upper-body injuries at times, especially late in the season. A July trade saw him shipped off to Toronto in exchange for Ryan Reaves, a deal that hurts Thrun's short-term potential, though it could be better for him in the long run.
