Dustin Wolf

Dustin Wolf

24-Year-Old GoalieG
Calgary Flames
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The future of the Flames' crease is in good hands with Wolf. In his first full NHL campaign, the California-born netminder went 29-16-8 with a 2.64 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 53 games. He started 2024-25 sharing the crease with Dan Vladar, but Wolf's potential quickly earned him a starting role. He's been a winner at every level of hockey, and at 24 years old, he's still got a few years of improvement. His peak is a top-five NHL goalie, though the Flames still need to improve their roster after being one of the lowest-scoring teams last season. Wolf was excellent on thin margins, and he's clearly on the rise -- you have no reason to hesitate if his name is at the top of the draft board when you're on the clock. Read Past Outlooks
Signed a seven-year, $52.5 million contract extension with the Flames in September of 2025.
Goes shark hunting
GCalgary Flames
January 31, 2026
Wolf made 23 saves Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Sharks.
ANALYSIS
Wolf has been an absolute Sharks killer -- he's now 9-2-0 against San Jose. And he's absolutely dominant against California teams -- he is 16-2-2 against teams from his home state. That includes a 4-0-2 record against the Ducks and 3-0-0 record against the Kings. Wolf is 16-20-3 with a 3.00 GAA and .897 save percentage in 39 starts this season. But the California native has to be glad January is over. He is 2-6-1 in nine starts this month, and he allowed four goals in seven of those nine.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Wolf enters his first full NHL season with the weight of expectations on his young shoulders, but fantasy managers need to be patient with the two-time AHL goalie of the year and AHL MVP from 2022-23. The Flames are rebuilding and the defense will struggle in front of him. Wolf will do better than his 7-7-1, 3.15 GAA and .893 in limited action last season, but stardom won't come until after the Flames move into their new arena in 2027. Wolf's dynasty's value is high, but his single-year merits are average at best. He'll end up splitting time in a platoon with Dan Vladar, and he has a bad team in front of him.
He's been the AHL's top goalie two years in a row, and he was also the minor-league MVP in 2022-23, so Wolf doesn't seem far away from becoming a full-time NHLer. Opportunity is the only thing that's lacking -- Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar currently block him on the depth chart. Wolf's been a winner at every level he's played, and while he's undersized, that's not the same roadblock for goalies that it used to be. He's entering his age-22 season, and if he can get onto the Flames' roster at some point in 2023-24, he may be able to prove himself too good to send back down. Wolf just has to blow the walls down when he gets the chance.
