2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was a tale of two seasons for Fowler, as he started 2024-25 with Anaheim, notching just four assists across 17 appearances. The 2010 first-round pick was then dealt to St. Louis in December and amassed nine goals and 36 points over 51 regular-season outings with his new team. Fowler flourished on the first pairing and with the No. 1 power-play unit, helping the Blues get into the postseason for the first time since 2022. The up-and-coming Philip Broberg could challenge Fowler for a spot on the top power-play unit, but Fowler’s experience and poise with the puck might be the separating factor for him to keep that role in 2025-26. Set to be an unrestricted free agent next year, the puck-moving defenseman will be playing for a new contract -- a full season outside of Anaheim could yield high-end production for Fowler considering how he performed after being traded. Picks up helper in win
Fowler dished out an assist in Saturday's 2-0 win over the Canadiens.
ANALYSIS
Fowler drew the attention of multiple Montreal defenders before sliding a pass to Jonatan Berggren, who buried a one-time shot from the right wing for the Blues' opening goal. With the helper, Fowler now has 14 assists, 15 points, 58 shots on net and 38 blocks through 43 games this season. The 34-year-old blueliner is well off the necessary pace to replicate his 40-point season through 68 regular-season games a year ago. However, he dominated down the stretch with 33 points in as many games to end the 2024-25 regular season, showcasing he can get hot when the games matter most. Fowler's fantasy value is currently best suited for deep leagues, but he remains a name to keep an eye on.

Fowler had five goals and 39 points in 81 contests with Anaheim last season, which is typical of him. Of his 14 NHL campaigns, he's recorded 28-42 points in 10 of them. The Ducks' young forward corps is making strides, which will provide Fowler with more to work with and might result in him seeing a mild uptick in production. He might also be less of a burden in terms of plus/minus after finishing the past campaign at minus-36. That said, Anaheim will likely be average at the very best this season after finishing 2023-24 with a 27-50-5, so even under ideal circumstances, the situation for Fowler won't be that much better. Factor in that he's 32 now, so while Fowler should have some solid seasons left in him, there's minimal upside left here.
