Nico Echavarria

31-Year-Old Golfer
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Oddly, Echavarria posted wins in his first two PGA Tour seasons, yet this past season, when he failed to win, was by far his most lucrative regular season, earning more in 2025 than he did in the previous two years combined. The reason for this is that his win in 2023 was at an opposite field event and his win in 2024 came during the fall. Often times when a golfer is only winning against weak fields, he fails to make the jump to be competitive against better fields, but Echavarria made that leap this past season, posting a runner-up at the Sony Open and a T6 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Those aren't the strongest of fields, but it's better than what you normally see in the fall. Speaking of the fall, Echavarria continued his strong play this past season well into the fall, providing hope that he can continue his ascention up the PGA Tour ladder this season. Echavarria appears to have enough upside to make him a valuable salary cap selection this season. Read Past Outlooks

It's difficult to find a golfer whose stock rose more during the FedExCup Fall, as Echavarria went from battling for his Tour card to winning the ZOZO Championship in Japan to lock up his status through 2026 and punching his first ever trip to The Masters. The win doesn't appear just to be a flash in the pan, either, as the second-year Tour pro went on to post top-10s in two of his final three events including a shared runner-up in Sea Island. Echavarria's ceiling could be limited as he's not the longest driver, but he's a quality long-iron player and putter which should keep him on his upward trajectory next season.
Echavarria secured three top-25 finishes, including a win, in his debut season on the PGA Tour. His victory came at the 2023 Puerto Rico Open, but beyond that event, Echavarria faced challenges, making only five out of 28 cuts with an average finish ranking beyond the top-85. The 29-year-old is a below-average performer inn all facets of the game, significantly trailing his peers in all shots-gained metrics.
The 28-year-old Colombian played his collegiate golf at the University of Arkansas before eventually appearing in 90 Korn Ferry Tour events since 2019, tallying 18 total top-25 finishes in the process. Perhaps none were more important than his T5 at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship, however, which earned him a PGA Tour card for the first time. Echavarria ranked eighth on the KFT in putting average and 16th in par-4 scoring.
