Harsh second round in return
July 27, 2025
Wolff finished 53rd at LIV Golf UK with a seven-over cumulative score.
ANALYSIS
Wolff missed the last two LIV Golf tournaments due to back issues, but he was cleared to make his return at JCB Golf and Country Club. He started out fine enough with an even 71 opening round, but he fell apart with a seven-over 78 second round, when he carded four bogeys and two double bogeys. It was a rough return for Wolff, but he sits 39th in the individual season standings with 17.33 points, which should be enough for him to avoid relegation from the league. He'll be in the field for LIV Golf Chicago in two weeks, where he finished T47 in 2024.

Wolff is currently not qualified for any of the majors.
Wolff was a young player who many had pegged for a massive breakout season. He was well on his way to that after beginning the campaign by nearly winning the U.S. Open at Winged Foot then following it with a T2 in his next start at the Shriners Open. Since that point, however, the former NCAA Individual Champion has never been quite the same. He made it public that he was struggling with his mental health and is trying to get back on track. Wolff's short game is his biggest hurdle golf-wise to improve upon, but there is just so much upside with this 22-year-old.
Wolff waited all of three professional starts to notch a win at last year's 3M Open. After that we saw a lot of inconsistent play, but at the end of the 2019-20 campaign he really started to heat up. Wolff's length will always be a big weapon, but he looked more dialed in with his irons down the stretch. His short game may always be an issue because of his unique takeaway on the full swing, but his upside is still tremendous.
After winning the 3M Open this past July, Wolff not only gained immediate membership to the PGA Tour, but he also earned a spot in the FedEx playoffs. He failed to make it past the first weekend, but that's about the only time he failed last season. Wolff was a highly-touted mid season call-up, if you will, as he turned pro midway through the season, but he along with a few other guys that turned pro in the middle of the season, did not play like rookies. Wolff's win also turned his money earned last season into official earnings, which is important for those in salary cap leagues as he now has a "number" and that number makes him a very appealing option.
