2025 Fantasy Outlook
Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots last summer and missed the first 10 games of the 2024 season before being cleared to play in November. He appeared in four games before experiencing recurring symptoms, which led to his placement on the reserve/non-football illness list for the final three contests. Since then, he's been cleared for football activity, and the 2021 second-rounder is poised to reclaim his starting defensive tackle role for the Patriots. During the 2023 campaign, Barmore racked up 64 tackles and 8.5 sacks while playing a full 17-game slate. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Has healthy 2025 campaign
Barmore played in all 17 of New England's regular-season games in 2025, making 16 starts and finishing with 29 tackles, including 2.0 sacks.
ANALYSIS
Barmore played in only four games in 2024 due to a medical issue involving blood clots. Fortunately, that problem appears to have been resolved given his ability to play in all 21 of the Patriots' contests (including the playoffs) this past year. Barmore signed a four-year contract extension in April of 2024, so he should be back as a key piece of New England's defensive line next season.

Barmore finished the 2023 regular season with 64 tackles to go along with a team-high 8.5 sacks in 17 games for the Patriots. Keeping the 2021 second-rounder around for the long haul was clearly a priority for the team's current brass, and the 24-year-old landed a four-year, $92 million extension with the team in April. When available, Barmore is in line to reprise his role as a key interior lineman for the team, however the defensive tackle was diagnosed with blood clots in July and as a result is sidelined indefinitely as the 2024 campaign approaches.

Candidate for fresh start
Aaron Schatz of ESPN.com identifies Barmore as a player that could benefit from a change in team this offseason.
ANALYSIS
In identifying a player from each team that would likely benefit from a fresh start elsewhere this offseason, Schatz lands on Barmore when it comes to the Patriots. The analyst notes New England would definitely have to replace the talented defensive tackle's interior pass-rush skills, but he notes the 26-year-old's pending assault and battery charge tarnishes his appeal to a Patriots team looking to build on last year's AFC title-winning campaign.
