The grass isn't always greener, but it certainly was for Cashman during his first year in Minnesota. After being stuck in a special team or rotational role in Houston, he played a career-high 850 defensive snaps in 2024 and displayed strong ability as a run defender pass rusher. Per PFF, Cashman had a missed tackle rate below 10 percent for the second consecutive season, and he generated 31 total pressures on only 174 pass-rushing snaps. The Vikings made a few acquisitions to bolster its linebacker corps this offseason, but Cashman's role should be safe in 2025 and he should be a safe bet for 100 stops and a handful of sacks assuming he can stay healthy. Cashman had a productive 2023 season in Houston, posting 106 tackles (56 solo) in 14 appearances. He then signed a three-year, $22.5 million contract with the Vikings. He'll start next to Ivan Pace, Jr. as the two interior linebackers. Cashman is better in coverage so he could stay on the field in nickel and dime packages over Pace, but his usage will be worth watching in training camp.
