Matt Gay News: Returns to practice squad

Gay reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday.

With Eddy Pineiro missing the past two weeks due to a hamstring injury, Gay has stepped in and has gone 4-for-4 on field goals as well as 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts. San Francisco is on bye Week 14, and Pineiro is trending toward active status when the team returns to action Week 15, so Gay's time as the club's kicker may have come to an end.
