Gavin Wimsatt News: Remains favorite to start
Wimsatt (hamstring) is the frontrunner to be the starting quarterback for Jacksonville State in 2025, Thomas Ashworth of AL.com reports.
Head coach Charles Kelly confirmed that Wimsatt remains in the driver's seat to be the team's QB1 this fall. Wimsatt transferred in over the offseason after playing in eight games for Kentucky in 2024 as a backup and situational wildcat quarterback. He only completed 41 percent of his 39 pass attempts with three touchdowns and four interceptions but has received some praise from coach Kelly during fall camp and remains in the lead to man the offense when the season gets underway.
