Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Dart will be the team's starting quarterback for the rest of the season, beginning with Sunday's contest against the Chargers,
Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSISDart will take over under center Week 4 while
Russell Wilson transitions to a backup role,
Adam Schefter of ESPN confirms, and the Giants don't intend to consider any further pivots. The first test for Dart will be difficult, as the Chargers' defense is one of only four units in the NFL that has allowed two total passing touchdowns across the first three weeks of the regular season. There are reasons to be optimistic about Dart's fantasy upside, namely due to his dual-threat capabilities, plus the presence of difference-making No. 1 receiver in
Malik Nabers and a capable safety valve in
Wan'Dale Robinson, but fantasy managers will likely want to wait for the rookie signal-caller to either prove himself before trusting him in weekly lineups, or wait for a more favorable matchup such as Week 5 against the Saints.
