2025 Fantasy Outlook
Both Curry and the Warriors underwhelmed to begin the 2024-25 season. Trading for Jimmy Butler re-ignited things for the team and gave Curry room to breathe offensively, improving his efficiency. In his final 24 regular-season appearances following the All-Star break, Curry averaged 26.7 points and 4.6 threes on 48/41/95 shooting, 5.9 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals. Golden State's new primary core of Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler is back this season and gunning for a title. The only questions surrounding Curry at this point revolve around his age (37) and his injury history. While he's played an impressive 144 games across the past two seasons, those are an outlier compared to the prior six years, where he averaged 51.3 appearances. His minutes per game have also declined each of the past three seasons. Despite some of the risk, Curry remains an option as a first-round pick in category leagues, where his efficiency and three-point shooting shine. In points leagues, managers can wait until the second or third round. Read Past Outlooks
Pours in 39 in return
Curry finished with 39 points (14-28 FG, 6-15 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds and five assists across 32 minutes during Friday's 127-120 loss to the Timberwolves.
ANALYSIS
The future Hall of Famer led all scorers on the night, but no other Warrior managed more than 16 points in the home loss. Curry missed the prior five games with a quadriceps bruise but looked fully healthy Friday, and he's been deadly when on the court over the last month. The 37-year-old point guard has topped 30 points in six of his last eight games dating back to Nov. 12, averaging 32.5 points, 5.6 threes, 4.4 assists, 4.3 boards and 1.0 steals over that stretch.

Amid a tumultuous 2023-24 season for the Warriors - not limited to Klay Thompson's struggles, Draymond Green's antics and Jonathan Kuminga's impatience - Curry was a stable ledge to hold onto. The 10-time All-Star surprisingly played 74 games, which was his most since 2016-17. While he didn't return first-round fantasy value due to slipping assist (5.1), rebound (4.5) and steal (0.7) numbers, Curry's 26.4 points and 4.8 threes on 45/41/92 shooting remained elite. Entering his age-36 season, Curry now begins a new chapter of his career, as the Warriors' Big 3 has officially seen a piece fall off with Thompson joining Dallas. Now Curry and Green - and to some extent, Andrew Wiggins - are the veterans of a ship with a young crew. Despite Curry's age, the conditions are better set than ever before for him to take even more control of the offense, especially in terms of firing shots. He averaged 32.8 points per 36 minutes last season with Thompson and Chris Paul off the floor. Players like Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson will step into some of that vacated usage, but their effectiveness in new roles remains to be seen. The rub is the potential for Curry to get hurt. Good health went a long way for him last season, but it can't be counted on. There are competing factors when looking at Curry in fantasy, but he should firmly be a second-round pick at worst in most drafts.
