2022 Fantasy Outlook
Mathews had a minor breakout during the 2021-22 season, scoring at least 20 points in five contests -- at one point logging double-digit scoring in nine straight games. At times, he was a sneaky three-point streaming option, ending the campaign by drilling 2.1 triples per night. His minutes were far from consistent, however. That's likely to stick moving forward. While he may have some short-term appeal throughout the season, it is hard to see him carving out a meaningful role on a nightly basis. In deeper formats, he presents as a somewhat reliable source of perimeter scoring, but his lack of peripheral numbers means he offers next to no upside.
