Personal Bio/PreCareer Summary

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Eric Dixon attended Abington Senior High School. He won a District 1 Title as a senior, finished as the school's all-time leading scorer and was named 2019 Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball. The four-star recruit redshirted his freshman year at Villanova before earning Big 5 Most Improved Player honors as a sophomore. During his junior and senior seasons, Dixon was named Second-Team All-Big East. As a fifth-year senior, Dixon took another leap, averaging 23.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.8 steals per game. He finished as the 2025 NCAA scoring champion en route to Third-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big East honors. Dixon is a big-bodied point forward who bullies his way to spots and can finish with either hand after an array of fakes. He's a solid mid-range shooter but elite beyond the arc. Making 41% of 7.2 3-point attempts per game would be top-tier marks for anybody, but getting that type of production from a 6-foot-8, 255-pound player who can also handle the ball will certainly turn some heads. Dixon's ability to put the ball in the basket should translate to the next level, but to carve out a consistent role, he'll have to improve defensively, especially on the boards. It's hard not to envision Julius Randle (6'9, 250) when watching Dixon play in college. Both lefties are natural playmakers who can be the most dominating force on the court, but Randle had a higher draft pedigree after only one season at Kentucky. Dixon is much heavier than GG Jackson (6'9, 210), but the Villanova product could have a similar NBA role as the Memphis forward, who's carved out an offensive-first bench gig after being a second-round pick in 2023.

FLos Angeles Lakers
June 26, 2025
Dixon agreed to a two-way contract with Los Angeles on Thursday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Dixon didn't hear his name called on draft night, but it didn't take long for the Villanova product to find an opportunity. The 6-foot-8 forward averaged a career-high 23.3 points over 35 games during his senior season, hitting at a clip of 40.7 percent from downtown.

Works out for Charlotte
FFree Agent
June 7, 2025
Dixon participated in a pre-draft workout with the Hornets earlier this week, according to Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer.
ANALYSIS
Dixon was a standout player in college and averaged a career-high 23.3 points per game for Villanova as a senior in the 2024-25 season. He would be a solid addition for the Hornets' rebuilding roster, but to be fair, he's far from being a player who will change the team's fortunes right away. Hepburn is viewed as a potential second-round pick, and on that note, Charlotte controls the 33rd and 34th overall selections.
