2025 Fantasy Outlook
Clement has shown an ability to hit minor league pitching, but even that was only recently, as he had a solid season for Triple-A Buffalo around between moving to and from the big league roster. However, Clement left Triple-A in the rearview mirror in 2024 and went on to do something five other active players have done: He had an at-bat/strikeout ratio greater than 10.0 in a season of 450 or more plate appearances. Only David Fletcher, Kevin Newman, Jose Altuve and Luis Arraez (3x!) have that on their resumes. Clement, however, hit more homers than those players, with 12. Let's stay weird; despite all that contact, Clement had a poor .284 OBP because he put too many balls into play. He has dual-eligibility to the left side of the infield, but Bichette's return rules out shortstop, while Clement really is not an everyday player at third base. He is out of options, so he is all but certain to have a roster spot with the Jays. What he does with that roster spot is up to him, but he profiles more as a flexible reserve than he does an everyday corner man. Read Past Outlooks

Dealing with lower body injury
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said after Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Cardinals that Clement is considered day-to-day with a lower body injury, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Clement was replaced by Addison Barger at third base in the ninth inning. The injury doesn't appear to be serious, and with the Blue Jays scheduled for a day off Thursday, Clement could be available for Friday's weekend opener against the Phillies. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a solo home run prior to being subbed out.

Another wave of top prospects is arriving in the American League free-agent pool to provide reinforcements for your roster, led by the Kansas City Royals' Jac Caglianone.

Check out this week's fantasy baseball hitter rankings and look for a few Atlanta hitters to do well against the Brewers and Rockies.

2020
Clement spent 30 games in the majors in 2023, slashing an impressive .380/.385/.500 across 52 plate appearances, backing up 320 Triple-A plate appearances where he hit .348/.401/.544. The small sample in the majors also came with a .885 OPS as he played well when given an opportunity. Therein lies the problem however, as Clement's chances were few and far between in 2023. Things don't look much better for Clement in 2024 as the signing of Isiah Kiner-Falefa knocks him down the utility man depth chart for the Blue Jays.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Chances at first base?
Clement could be a backup option at first base for the Blue Jays after Will Wagner was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca.
ANALYSIS
Clement has five appearances at first base in his MLB career, all of which came with Cleveland in 2022. The 29-year-old has been operating as Toronto's primary third baseman early in the season, though he hasn't done much to secure the job with a .224/.264/.269 slash line in 73 plate appearances. Vladimir Guerrero will remain an everyday presence at first base, so even if Clement does see some action at first base, he may not get enough appearances to gain positional eligibility for fantasy.
