King is an athletic speedster who plays multiple positions and is aggressive at the plate. He made up somewhat for an underwhelming 2025 regular season (88 wRC+) with a strong showing in the Arizona Fall League (1.031 OPS in 18 games). Including the AFL, King stole 36 bases on 40 attempts in 143 games. That speed will be his primary appeal in fantasy, as King has fringe-average power, and even in a best-case scenario, he probably won't log high on-base percentages -- he'll always be more valuable in batting average leagues. What's working in King's favor is his pedigree (No. 10 overall pick in 2024) and defensive chops. He can play anywhere on the field, including shortstop, so there could be years where King is eligible at multiple positions in fantasy. He will presumably head back to Double-A after slashing .233/.287/.313 with three homers and a 0.31 BB/K in 80 games there in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
