Yorke was acquired in 2024 by the Pirates when the club got the former first rounder from Boston in exchange for a fellow former first rounder Quinn Priester. It is a good thing the Pirates have a plethora of talented young pitching as Priester has gone on to become a good major-league starter while Yorke has 33 games played in the majors over the past two seasons. The infielder had a serviceable season in Triple-A hitting .287/.348/.406 for the Indianapolis Indians with 17 steals in 23 attempts. Yorke needs to step up and show what he can do at the big-league level with top organizational prospect Termarr Johnson only a step behind him on the depth chart. The opportunity is there for Yorke to show why he was considered a bat-first prospect coming out of the draft, but until he does, this is an end-game, NL-only league roster decision.
