2026 Fantasy Outlook
After working his way back from October 2023 Tommy John surgery, Bautista rejoined the Orioles' bullpen in time for Opening Day. As expected, he struggled with his control in the early going, but "The Mountain" went on to secure 19 saves for Baltimore while demonstrating flashes of dominance. Unfortunately, Bautista's 2025 campaign was cut short due to yet another significant injury. The 30-year-old underwent surgery in August 2025 to repair a torn labrum and torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder. His recovery is expected to sideline him for at least 12 months, and while the Orioles seem to be leaving open the possibility that Bautista could return late in the 2026 season, it's likelier he remains out until 2027. Additionally, given the nature of the operation, there's a possibility he never returns to form. You can safely fade Bautista in 2026 redraft formats - even if he manages to return late in the year, it will be in limited capacity. Read Past Outlooks
