2026 Fantasy Outlook
In a surprise offseason move, the Red Sox dealt the high-ceiling Perales for Nationals pitching prospect Jake Bennett -- a high-floor lefty. Perales missed a large chunk of 2024 and nearly all of 2025 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he's wowed with his stuff since returning, regularly reaching triple digits with his fastball while embarrassing hitters with his low-90s cutter. He has struck out 32.6 percent of batters in his minor-league career, but he needs to throw more strikes, as he has a 12.3 percent career walk rate. The 22-year-old has thrown a total of 9.2 innings beyond A-ball, but could advance quickly if he can improve his control. It would make sense for Perales to debut out of Washington's bullpen this year, as his innings will be monitored. Read Past Outlooks
