Rodon is expected to miss the start of the 2026 season after undergoing surgery in mid-October to remove loose bodies and shave down a bone spur in his left elbow. The hope is that he will be back on the mound for the Yankees by late April or early May. The southpaw's latest procedure adds to a long medical record that includes TJS, and forearm and back issues as recently as 2023. While his back injury was said to be chronic, Rodon managed to take the ball 30-plus times both of the past two years after clearing 30 starts only once prior to 2024. He pitched brilliantly during the 2025 regular season, making his third All-Star team before melting down with a 9.72 ERA in the postseason. Drafting injured pitchers is generally not advised, but Rodon's good enough to warrant a stash in many leagues. Certainly those playing in leagues with IL slots will want to keep him in mind.
