2026 Fantasy Outlook

Darvish is slated to miss the 2026 season after undergoing internal brace and flexor tendon surgery last October. He began last year on the injured list with elbow inflammation and returned in early July after experiencing setbacks during his rehabilitation. He made 15 starts but was plagued by the home run ball, surrendering 14 in just 72 innings. Darvish will be 40 years old at the beginning of the 2027 season. While there are instances of older pitchers finding success after major surgery, such as Justin Verlander and Jacob deGrom, Darvish's performance was already declining, and this was his second procedure after missing the 2015 season due to Tommy John surgery.
