2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ferrer was a workhorse for the Nationals in 2025, logging a career-high 76.1 innings that ranked ninth overall among relief pitchers. The southpaw led Washington in holds (21) and WPA (0.78) while maintaining the lowest walk rate (4.9 percent). He tossed more sinkers (71 percent pitch usage) than ever to produce a 62.6 ground ball percentage that ranked third among qualified relievers. Ferrer didn't strike many batters out - his 21.9 percent K-rate was slightly below league average - but he did produce one of the highest whiff rates in the league (47 percent) among those who tossed a minimum of 200 changeups. After Washington traded closer Kyle Finnegan, Ferrer took on the majority of the Nats' save opportunities, racking up 11 of the team's 16 saves over the final two months (68.5 percent share). The 25-year-old currently sits atop the team's 2026 closer hierarchy, but it's unclear how new manager Blake Butera - who comes from the Rays organization - intends to manage his bullpen.
