2026 Fantasy Outlook
When he was healthy in 2025, Olson looked sharp, but he unfortunately only mustered 13 starts and 68.2 innings before getting shut down in late July with a right shoulder strain. Prior to that point, the righty posted a 3.15 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 65 strikeouts. Though not considered a top-tier prospect on his way up through the minors, Reese has settled in as a reliable starting option in the majors. The 26-year-old has posted a sub-4.00 ERA in each of his first three MLB seasons while compiling a respectable 8.50 K/9 for his career. Assuming he can stay healthy, Olson likely projects as Detroit's No. 3 or No. 4 starter in 2026, behind staff ace Tarik Skubal, and mixed in with Casey Mize and Jack Flaherty. Olson's career high in innings at the MLB level is 112.1, so expect some limitations from a fantasy perspective, but he should be able to muster good stats on a per-game basis. And while he looks like a solid if not spectacular option at this point in his career, Olson is still young enough where another step forward is possible. Read Past Outlooks
