Andres Chaparro

Chaparro is a familiar story of players who have put up some solid minor league numbers but have failed to bring that production to the big league level. Chaparro hit .328/.405/.572 with 23 homers, 76 runs, and 85 RBIs in 2024 in the minors and .275/.384/.577 in 216 plate appearances for the Nationsl Triple-A club in 2025. Yet, he has shown none of that success with the Nationals in limited playing time. He has the unfortunate profile of being a right-handed hitting first baseman who is slow. He has demonstrated a disciplined approach in the minors but major league pitchers have not been afraid to challenge him in the strike zone to date. Chaparro has a chance to compete for the starting first base role in camp as the roster stands now, but he needs to find a way to carry his minor league success forward. Read Past Outlooks
